Ferdinand shocked by Arteta decision

Rio Ferdinand has a warning to Arsenal rivals, if Mikel Arteta’s side clinch the League they will be dominant next season.

Rio Ferdinand has issued a warning to Arsenal League rivals about the upcoming season, claiming that a Premier League title win would transform Mikel Arteta’s side into an even stronger force.

Arsenal currently sit five points clear at the top of the table with nine matches remaining. Despite recent draws against Brentford and Wolves, victories over Tottenham and Chelsea have strengthened their position in the title race.

Speaking on his podcast, Ferdinand said he believes Arsenal will secure the Premier League crown.

“I think Arsenal will win this title by hook or by crook. I think they win it by any means necessary,” he said.

The former Manchester United defender added that lifting the trophy would elevate the squad’s confidence significantly.

“I think the following year, with that confidence and the silverware, they become a different beast altogether and even more of a harder team to play against.”

Set-Piece Strength Highlighted

Ferdinand also praised Arsenal’s efficiency from set-pieces this season.

Arteta’s side have scored 32 goals from set-pieces in all competitions, including 24 from corners. Two corner goals in the recent 2-1 win over Chelsea took their Premier League tally from corners to 16.

I absolutely agree and respect it,” Ferdinand said. “They deserve respect for the way they’ve crafted this and become so dominant. You can sense fear in the opposition when they get a set-piece.”

Ferdinand believes ending a 22-year wait for the Premier League would have long-term consequences.

A title victory would provide Arsenal with both belief and experience. It could also strengthen their position in the transfer market as they prepare for the next campaign.

Manchester City remain a threat with a game in hand and a crucial clash against Arsenal still to come, but Ferdinand expects Arteta’s team to close out the race.

Arsenal’s Run-In Remains Crucial

Arsenal travel to Brighton next as they aim to extend their lead. Squad depth has proven important during recent fixtures, particularly with injury concerns surrounding key players.

Ferdinand’s comments reinforce his belief that Arsenal are not only contenders this season, but also potential long-term leaders in the Premier League.

If they secure the title, the message is clear: next season could see an even more confident and refined Arsenal side.
