Arsenal’s Transfer Deal in Jeopardy as Manchester United Gets Green Light

Benjamin Sesko Transfer Battle: Arsenal’s deal for Benjamin Sesko nears completion, but Manchester United’s late move could derail the signing.

Arsenal’s Sesko transfer battle is reaching a decisive moment, with the £60 million deal for RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko seemingly close to completion. However, fresh reports suggest that the move could still collapse, as Manchester United has now been given the green light to enter the race and potentially hijack the signing.

The Gunners have been actively searching for a top-class striker to bolster their attacking options, with Mikel Arteta making Sesko his primary target. Arsenal’s new sporting director, Andre Berta, is considering whether to sign Sesko or Sporting Lisbon striker Viktor Gyokeres. The Swedish striker has kept up his impressive form in Portugal, scoring 52 goals in 50 games, while Sesko has 21 goals for a struggling Leipzig team.

At 21 years old, Sesko represents a long-term investment with high potential, though he is not yet a fully developed striker. His price tag has reportedly risen to £60million, reflecting his growing market value.

On the other hand, Gyokeres, 26, is seen as a more immediate solution, offering a proven goal-scoring record and physical readiness. His price is estimated to be £60 million, making him a slightly more affordable option.

The arrival of Andrea Berta as Arsenal’s sporting director has intensified discussions around Gyokeres, despite previous groundwork being laid for Sesko’s transfer, according to The Independent.

While Arsenal has been leading the race for Sesko, Manchester United has now emerged as a potential obstacle. The Red Devils, who are also in the market for a striker, have reportedly been given the green light to pursue the Leipzig star. With United’s financial power and ability to offer a competitive package, Arsenal may face stiff competition in securing the deal.

Despite indications that Sesko is open to a move to Arsenal, the deal is far from guaranteed. Leipzig is reportedly willing to sell the striker, but only if their valuation is met. Arsenal’s ability to finalize the transfer will depend on their willingness to meet Leipzig’s demands and fend off interest from their Premier League rivals.

With Manchester United now in the mix, Arsenal must act swiftly to avoid losing their top target. Will the Gunners manage to seal the deal, or will United swoop in at the last moment? The coming weeks will be crucial in determining Sesko’s future.
