Now, with his contract expiring next month, Celtic are confident of securing a deal for their former captain. Rodgers, speaking to The Daily Record, acknowledged Tierney’s enthusiasm about the move:
“I haven’t spoken to him a lot of late, but I know his love of the club and excitement to come back here. So, yes, I’m sure he’s champing at the bit to get back.”
Rodgers emphasized the importance of maintaining a Scottish identity within the squad, stating that homegrown players like Tierney are pivotal to the club’s culture.
