Victor Osimhen, the Nigerian striker, has been making headlines with his stellar performances at Galatasaray. On loan from Napoli, Osimhen has been a revelation in the UEFA Europa League, scoring six goals and providing four assists in just eight games. His recent brace against Tottenham Hotspur in a thrilling 3-2 victory has further cemented his status as one of Europe’s top strikers.

Osimhen’s impressive form has reignited transfer speculation, particularly from Premier League giants Arsenal and Chelsea. During the summer transfer window, both clubs were heavily linked with the Nigerian forward, but the steep asking price saw interest wane. With Napoli initially demanding a fee of €130 million, the clubs turned their attention to other targets like Benjamin Sesko and Viktor Gyokeres.

However, Osimhen’s loan move to Galatasaray has changed the dynamics. The lowered release clause in his contract, now set at €90 million for January and €75 million by June 2025, has made him an attractive option once again. With the January transfer window approaching, clubs are closely monitoring Osimhen’s situation. A break clause in his loan deal allows interested parties to trigger his transfer midway through the season.

Chelsea, in particular, is reported to be the favorite to activate the clause, reigniting interest that nearly saw Osimhen join the Blues during the last window. Despite the growing speculation, Osimhen has expressed his commitment to Galatasaray, enjoying his time with the club and the support of the fans.

Osimhen’s performances have not only reminded Arsenal and Chelsea of his talent but also highlighted his value in European competitions. His goal tally in the Europa League now stands at 12 goals in 23 appearances, making him a formidable force against English teams.

As the transfer window approaches, it remains to be seen whether Osimhen will stay in Turkey or make a move to one of the Premier League giants. One thing is certain: his performances have sent a clear message to clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea that he is a player worth pursuing.
