UEFA investigation Real Madrid stars ahead of Arsenal clash. Suspensions could impact Champions League quarter-final lineup.
UEFA investigation into Real Madrid players has disrupted preparations for their Champions League quarter-final against Arsenal. The probe follows controversial celebrations after Madrid’s penalty shootout win over Atlético Madrid in the Round of 16.
Kylian Mbappé, Vinícius Júnior, Antonio Rüdiger, and Dani Ceballos are all under investigation. Allegations include Mbappé making a vulgar gesture, Rüdiger mimicking a throat-slitting motion, and Vinícius and Ceballos provoking Atlético fans.
Atletico Madrid reportedly submitted video evidence to UEFA for review.
UEFA Confirms Ethics Inspector Appointment
UEFA released a statement confirming the investigation.
“A UEFA Ethics and Disciplinary Inspector has been appointed to investigate allegations of indecent conduct by Real Madrid CF players,” the statement read.
The incident occurred during the second leg on March 12 at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano Stadium.

Suspensions Could Impact Arsenal Quarter-Final
If found guilty, the players could face suspensions. That would sideline key figures like Mbappé and Vinícius for the first leg against Arsenal. Rüdiger’s absence would also weaken Madrid’s defense.
The first leg is scheduled for April 8 at the Emirates Stadium, with the return leg on April 16.
Arsenal may benefit from a weakened Madrid squad. Fans and analysts are watching closely as UEFA prepares its verdict. The outcome could reshape the quarter-final and influence the tournament’s trajectory.
Real Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti remains hopeful that UEFA will issue fines rather than bans.
