Tony Adams claims two Arsenal stars were fortunate in their win over Man Utd

Arsenal legend Tony Adams has acknowledged that his former side ‘got away with one’ in their win over Manchester United.

Arsenal legend Tony Adams has admitted that his old side “got away with one” in their 2-0 victory over Manchester United at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night. The former Arsenal captain praised his team’s set-piece tactics but acknowledged that some decisions went their way.

The Gunners secured a crucial win thanks to goals from Jurrien Timber and William Saliba, both of which came from corner kicks. Adams highlighted the effectiveness of Arsenal’s corner routines, which have been a significant part of their strategy this season.

Adams admitted that Timber appeared to push United’s Rasmus Hojlund out of the way to score the opening goal, and Saliba’s goal also involved a bit of physicality. “There’s a little push at the near post he has got away with and he’s flicked it in,” Adams told Premier League Productions. “Look at Saliba, he ends up scoring and he’s pushed him. The referee has let it all go.”

Despite the controversial moments, Adams praised Arsenal’s aggressive approach to set pieces and their ability to capitalize on United’s defensive vulnerabilities. “If I was defending against them, I think we are getting to the stage where you would have to block them before they run in and get into that zone,” Adams said.
