Arsenal legend Thierry Henry has voiced his concerns about the club’s title aspirations, stating that Arsenal is currently not in contention for the Premier League crown. Henry highlighted several areas where he believes the Gunners are falling short, particularly their performance away from home.
After Arsenal’s recent 1-0 defeat to Inter Milan in the Champions League, Henry told CBS Sports, “Right now, they’re not challenging for the league. The results are not good enough to be at the top.” He added, “My issue, and we’ve talked about it since matchday two, away from home I don’t think it was good enough. We were getting away with it for a very long time, now we’re not anymore.”
Henry also expressed concerns ahead of Arsenal’s upcoming match against Chelsea, saying, “I don’t know what we’re going to do, I’ll be honest with you. Today they were 1-0 down and Inter gave them the ball, so I don’t know.” He concluded, “I think it will be extremely difficult because you have too many teams to catch.”
Despite Henry’s candid assessment, he acknowledged that there is still a long way to go in the season and that anything is possible in football. However, he emphasized that Arsenal needs to improve their performance, especially in away games, to have any chance of challenging for the title.
