Arsenal’s hopes in the Premier League title race were dealt a blow as they were held to a draw by Everton.
Theo Walcott, the former Arsenal star, has pinpointed the main issue confronting Mikel Arteta’s team this season. Speaking on BBC’s Match of the Day, Walcott highlighted that goals from open play have been a significant problem for Arsenal.
Despite their impressive performances from set-pieces, with 22 goals from corners this season, Arsenal has struggled to convert chances from open play. Walcott pointed out that this issue was evident in their recent 0-0 draw against Everton, where they dominated possession but failed to break down the opposition’s defense.
Walcott emphasized the need for Arsenal to improve their attacking play in open situations to compete effectively for the Premier League title. He suggested that addressing this issue could be crucial for the team’s success in the second half of the season.
