Viktor Gyokeres’ future at Sporting CP remains uncertain as speculation grows around a potential Gyokeres Arsenal transfer this summer.
Arsenal transfer speculation swirl around Viktor Gyokeres as teammates Pedro Gonçalves teases his future following the club’s Primeira Liga title celebrations. Gyokeres, who has been instrumental in Sporting’s success, scored his 39th goal of the season in a crucial 2-0 victory over Vitoria, further cementing his reputation as one of Europe’s most sought-after strikers.
During Sporting’s open-top bus parade, Goncalves hinted at Gyokeres’ potential departure, stating, “They say we won’t be three-time champions without Viktor [Gyokeres]. And now, what I want to say is that we’ll see”. His comments have fueled speculation that the Swedish forward could be on his way out, with Arsenal emerging as frontrunners to secure his signature.
Gyokeres himself remained tight-lipped about his future, telling Sport TV, “It’s football, I’m still here. I don’t know what’s going to happen. Nobody can predict the future”. Despite his cautious remarks, Sporting’s hierarchy is reportedly prepared to lose their star striker, with Premier League clubs including Arsenal, Manchester United and Chelsea keeping a close eye on the situation.

Arsenal, however, appears to be leading the race, with reports suggesting that Gyokeres could be available for £60 million when the transfer window opens. If the Gunners meet Sporting’s valuation, they could secure a prolific goalscorer to bolster their attacking options.
Gyokeres, who turns 27 next month, is under contract with Sporting until June 2028. Having previously played for Brighton and Swansea before making a name for himself at Coventry City, he has enjoyed a meteoric rise in European football. Sporting initially signed him for £16.7 million, meaning they stand to make a significant profit should they decide to sell.
As the summer transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on Arsenal and whether they can finalize a deal for Gyokeres. His potential move could be one of the biggest transfers of the season, reshaping the Premier League’s attacking landscape.
