Arsenal’s new signing, Riccardo Calafiori, joined the squad for their pre-season tour of the United States. While he didn’t feature in the friendly against Liverpool, the Italian defender has been training with the team.
Arsenal captain Martin Odegaard has expressed his admiration for Calafiori, highlighting his impressive qualities. The Norwegian midfielder believes the Italian will be a valuable asset to the squad.
“Everyone saw it straight away in the training, he’s a top player,” Odegaard stated.
“He’s a top defender, physical, he has this presence on the pitch, and I’m sure he’s going to give us a lot.
“I’m happy to have him onboard and looking forward to seeing more from him.”
Fans are eagerly anticipating Calafiori’s first appearance in an Arsenal shirt. The upcoming friendlies against Bayer Leverkusen and Olympique Lyonnais offer potential opportunities for the defender to showcase his talents.
If Calafiori is able to participate in both friendlies, he will start Arsenal’s first game against Wolves on August 17th.
