Reveled. Reason why Manchester United Are Facing a Wait to Seal the Signing of Arsenal Wonderkid.

Manchester United’s pursuit of Arsenal’s highly-rated teenager, Chido Obi-Martin, has encountered a few stumbling blocks, delaying the deal.

According to Goal, one of the primary reasons for the delay is the need for ratification from the Premier League and the Football Association. These governing bodies must approve the transfer, ensuring all regulations and legalities are adhered to.

Despite Obi-Martin’s contract with Arsenal expiring, the Gunners are entitled to a compensation fee due to their role in his development. The Athletic have previously reported that the both clubs have been in negotiations over this fee, but if they fail to reach an agreement, the matter may go to a tribunal to determine the amount Manchester United will have to pay.

Obi-Martin has been busy with international duties, having joined the Danish under-18 squad during the international break. This has added another layer of complexity to the timing and logistics of the transfer.

Bayern Munich and other top clubs were interested in the teenage striker but Manchester United had to convince Obi-Martin and his representatives that Old Trafford is the best place for his development.

At 16, Obi-Martin is currently eligible for a scholarship deal, but he will only be able to sign a professional contract when he turns 17 in November. This timing issue means that while terms can be agreed upon now, the finalization of a professional contract will have to wait.
