Renee Slegers, Arsenal’s interim head coach, has defended the club’s decision to move the Women’s Champions League clash with Bayern Munich from the Emirates Stadium. The decision was made to accommodate the men’s Carabao Cup quarter-final against Crystal Palace.

Slegers acknowledged the complexity of the scheduling dilemma, stating, “It’s been a very hard dilemma for the club, with two great teams competing in important competitions. She emphasized that while the decision was challenging, it was necessary to balance the club’s commitments across both men’s and women’s teams.

Despite the change in venue, Slegers remains optimistic about the upcoming match, highlighting Arsenal’s efforts to grow the women’s game. “We look forward to playing against Bayern Munich, having a Champions League night either way,” she said.
