Saliba, a 23-year-old French international, has quickly established himself as one of the best center-backs in the Premier League since his return to Arsenal in the 2022/23 season. His impressive performances under Mikel Arteta have caught the eye of several top clubs, with Real Madrid emerging as the frontrunners for his signature.

Despite the interest from Real Madrid, Arsenal is determined to retain Saliba and has placed a hefty price tag on the defender. The Gunners value him highly and would only consider selling him for a record-breaking fee, potentially making him the most expensive defender in football history.

Saliba’s contract with Arsenal runs until 2027, giving the club a strong negotiating position. However, Real Madrid’s pursuit of the young defender highlights their ambition to maintain their dominance in both domestic and European competitions.

As the summer transfer window approaches, all eyes will be on Arsenal and Real Madrid to see if a deal can be reached. Saliba’s potential move to the Spanish capital would be a significant coup for Real Madrid and a major loss for Arsenal.
