Ollie Watkins is reportedly willing to join Arsenal before the transfer deadline if Aston Villa reverse their stance and agree to a deal with the Gunners.
Ollie Watkins, who has been in fine form this season with 10 goals and 5 assists in 23 Premier League appearances, has expressed interest in joining Arsenal. However, Villa is keen to retain their star striker, especially with fellow forward Jhon Duran reportedly set to join Al Nassr.
Arsenal’s interest in Watkins comes at a crucial time as the club seeks to bolster its attacking options following an injury to Gabriel Jesus, which has left them with Kai Havertz as the primary center-forward. According to the Daily Mail, Watkins is interested in a move to the Emirates Stadium and is willing to agree terms with Arsenal if talks with Villa progress.
Watkins, a boyhood Arsenal fan, has previously stated that joining Arsenal is his “dream”. The Gunners’ initial bid of £45 million was rejected by Villa, who value Watkins at over £80 million.

0Aston Villa manager Unai Emery has made it clear that the club is not willing to sell Watkins, emphasizing the striker’s importance to their squad. Emery stated, “Ollie Watkins is our striker,” and added that while they appreciate the interest from Arsenal, they will be “very demanding” if they consider selling him. Villa’s position is further strengthened by their recent Champions League qualification, where Watkins played a key role in their 4-2 victory over Celtic.
With the transfer window closing soon, Arsenal is expected to make a second, improved offer for Watkins. However, Villa’s reluctance to sell and their high valuation make a deal challenging. If Watkins does not move to Arsenal this month, it may be the last opportunity for him to join the club he has supported since childhood.
