Eales Shuts Down Transfer Talk

Eales made it clear that Isak remains central to Newcastle’s long-term plans. “The reality is that all of our players are under long-term deals,” he said. “They’re committed to the club… we’re not under the gun to sell. It’d be crazy for us to consider it.”

Isak, who has netted 19 goals and provided five assists in just 24 Premier League appearances this season, is contracted at St James’ Park until 2028. Eales emphasized that the club’s financial stability—bolstered by January sales of fringe players—means they’re under no pressure to cash in on key assets.

Newcastle Frustrated by Transfer Speculation

Eales also voiced frustration over persistent rumors linking Isak with a move away. “It’s part of what football is… everybody wants a story,” he said. “But when you think about the growth of Newcastle, we have the ambition to be a top club.”

To reinforce their commitment, Newcastle plans to reopen contract talks with Isak this summer. “He has multiple years left,” Eales confirmed. “We’ll have discussions about a new deal, just like we did with Joelinton, Bruno Guimaraes, and Anthony Gordon.”
