Arsenal set to miss out on two top transfer targets in a massive blow.
Arsenal suffered a significant blow in their effort to bolster their attacking option. The Gunners had set their sights on two promising strikers, Alexander Isak and Viktor Gyokeres, but both players are now leaning toward other clubs. According to The Sun, Newcastle’s Isak is Barcelona’s top target, while Gyokeres wants a reunion with Ruben Amorim at Manchester United.
Barcelona has emerged as a top contender for Alexander Isak, making him their primary transfer target. The Spanish giants are keen on adding the Swedish striker to their ranks, which has complicated Arsenal’s plans. Isak’s impressive performances and goal-scoring prowess have caught the attention of several top clubs, and Barcelona is determined to secure his signature.
On the other hand, Viktor Gyokeres is reportedly considering a move to Manchester United. The Swedish forward is keen on reuniting with his former Sporting CP manager, Ruben Amorim, who has taken charge at Old Trafford. This development has further dampened Arsenal’s hopes of landing Gyokeres, as he seems set on joining the Red Devils.
Losing out on these two targets is a significant blow for Arteta, who has been keen on adding more firepower to his squad. Arsenal’s current strikers have been performing well, but the addition of Isak or Gyokeres would have provided much-needed depth and versatility in attack.
Arsenal must now reassess their options. The Gunners have been linked with other strikers, including Mateo Retegui, who has been in fine form for Atalanta. However, Arsenal’s scouts are aware that Retegui is also attracting interest from other clubs, including Paris Saint-Germain.
Arsenal’s manager, Mikel Arteta, will need to navigate these challenges and find a suitable replacement for their attacking lineup. The January transfer window will be crucial for the Gunners as they seek to strengthen their squad and compete at the highest level.
