Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided an update on Kai Havertz after the forward suffered a head injury during the Champions League match against Inter Milan. Havertz was forced off the pitch in stoppage time after a clash of heads with Inter defender Yann Bisseck, leaving him with a significant cut that required stitches.
Arteta confirmed that Havertz needed to come off due to the severity of the cut but expressed hope that the player would be fit for Arsenal’s upcoming Premier League match against Chelsea. “Regarding Kai, yeah, he’s got a big cut,” Arteta said. “He needed to come off because he needed some stitches, but hopefully he’s going to be okay for the weekend”.
The injury occurred as Arsenal pushed for an equalizer in the closing stages of the match, which ended in a 1-0 defeat for the Gunners. Despite the setback, Arteta remains optimistic about Havertz’s recovery and the team’s prospects in their next fixture.
