Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta provided a reassuring update on Jurrien Timber’s condition following the team’s 1-1 draw with Brighton & Hove Albion. The match, held at the Emirates Stadium, saw Timber limping off the field in the 80th minute, raising concerns.
Timber, who had missed almost the entire previous season due to a severe knee injury, was substituted after experiencing discomfort. However, Arteta quickly allayed fears during the post-match press conference, confirming that Timber’s issue was not a recurrence of his past injury but merely a case of cramping.
“Jurrien was cramping. He got a kick in the first half and then was cramping, so we had to take him off,” Arteta explained. “It’s not an injury, just cramp. He should be fine for our upcoming fixtures”.
The match itself was a hard-fought contest. Arsenal took the lead through Kai Havertz’s goal in the first half, but Brighton equalized in the second half after Declan Rice was controversially sent off for a second yellow card. Despite being down to 10 men, Arsenal held on for a draw, with both teams having chances to win.
