Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta heaped praise on forward Gabriel Jesus following the team’s impressive 5-1 victory over Crystal Palace. Arteta described Jesus as a “completely different player” since his return in the summer, highlighting his remarkable transformation and work ethic.

The match, which took place at Selhurst Park, saw Jesus score twice, adding to his hat-trick in the midweek Carabao Cup quarter-final against the same opponents. His goals, along with contributions from Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli, and Declan Rice, secured a dominant win for Arsenal.

Arteta emphasized the importance of Jesus’ performance, noting that it could be a turning point for the striker. “Credit to him and his work ethic,” Arteta said. “The way he came back in the summer, he was a completely different player and now he’s getting the reward. Sometimes it takes time.”

The victory not only showcased Jesus’ resurgence but also propelled Arsenal to third place in the Premier League table. Arteta believes Jesus has set a good example for the rest of the squad, demonstrating the importance of perseverance and preparation.

Despite the positive outcome, Arteta expressed concern over Bukayo Saka’s hamstring injury, which forced the England international to leave the field and could potentially keep him out for some time.
