Arsenal edges Tottenham 2-1, thanks to Leandro Trossard’s winning goal, as the Gunners show resilience in a hard-fought victory.

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confidently stated that his team is “still in the title race” following their 2-1 victory over Tottenham Hotspur in the North London derby. Arteta believes that the win has reignited Arsenal’s hopes of challenging for the Premier League title this season.

“We are still in the title race, there’s so much to play for but we can see how difficult it is for every team to win,” Arteta told reporters after the match. “When you have opportunities [to close the gap] you have to take them. This is a result to enjoy a moment and now we prepare for the next game.”

The victory over Spurs moved Arsenal within four points of league leaders Liverpool, although Arteta’s side has a game in hand. Despite recent setbacks, including defeats in cup competitions and injuries to key players, Arteta remains optimistic about his team’s chances.

“We were sensational. It was a big test after two games and not getting rewarded. We were incredibly good in the last game against United and we ended up losing somehow. It’s how you respond to a situation. These boys want more, they want to be tested and questioned, then they want to go on the pitch. We have big examples of that today, playing 72 hours after 120 minutes on Sunday.”

Arteta praised his players for their resilience and determination, highlighting their ability to bounce back from adversity. “To play the biggest game of the season for our people, it was a test of attitude, what we are made of, the courage we have. From minute one, we fully deserved to win the game.
