The Arsenal winger is nearing a return to full fitness after undergoing surgery on his hamstring, which kept him out for three months.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has provided a positive update on the recovery of star winger Bukayo Saka. The 23-year-old has been sidelined since December due to a serious hamstring injury sustained during a match against Crystal Palace. Saka’s absence has been keenly felt by the Gunners, who have struggled to maintain their form without one of their key players.
In a recent press conference, Arteta shared encouraging news about Saka’s progress. “He’s getting closer. He’s stepping up and making very good progress. Let’s see when we decide to throw him in, how he reacts and how fit he can get quickly,” Arteta said.

Saka’s injury required surgery, and the recovery process has been carefully managed by Arsenal’s medical team. Arteta expressed optimism about Saka’s return, highlighting the player’s determination and positive attitude throughout his rehabilitation. “His progress is really good; he’s willing, as we can imagine. We’re positive that in a few weeks, hopefully, he’ll be back,” Arteta added.
The Gunners are eagerly anticipating Saka’s return, especially with crucial fixtures on the horizon. Arsenal’s title challenge has faltered in recent weeks, and the team is now focused on securing a strong finish in the Premier League and making a deep run in the Champions League. Saka’s return could provide a much-needed boost to the squad as they navigate a busy schedule in April.
Arteta also emphasized the importance of not rushing Saka back into action too soon. “It’s important that Saka isn’t rushed back. That would have the opposite effect that Arsenal are trying to achieve, by potentially making his injury worse,” Arteta noted. The manager’s cautious approach aims to ensure that Saka is fully fit and ready to contribute when he makes his comeback.
