The Arsenal defender will be out for few months following successful knee surgery. Manager Mikel Arteta confirmed the decision was necessary after ongoing issues this season.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that defender Ben White will be sidelined for several months following knee surgery. White, who has been dealing with various issues throughout the season, underwent the procedure during the international break.
Arteta stated, “It’s been different kinds of struggles, never the same thing. We had to make a decision, it hasn’t been improving in the last few weeks. We know that Ben is going to push every boundary, but it got to a point where we had to protect the player. He agreed with that and it’s going to keep him out for a few months.”
White’s absence is a significant blow for Arsenal, as he has been a key player in their defensive lineup. The Gunners will now need to find alternatives to cover his position, with Takehiro Tomiyasu also out due to injury.
Despite the setback, Arteta remains optimistic about the team’s prospects, with other players like Bukayo Saka and Declan Rice expected to be fit for the upcoming match against Nottingham Forest.
