Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has Heaps of Praise for William Saliba on his 100th Arsenal Appearance.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta had nothing but praise for William Saliba after the young defender made his 100th appearance for the club during the recent 5-1 victory over Sporting CP in the UEFA Champions League. Arteta lauded Saliba’s consistency and quality of performances, highlighting the significance of reaching such a milestone at a young age.
“At his age, the consistency and quality of performances is incredible,” Arteta said. “It’s not easy, it’s a tricky position to play in this league, but he has a magnificent partnership and credit to Gabriel as well for that.”
Saliba, who made his debut for Arsenal in August 2022, has been a key figure in the team’s defense. Over his 100 appearances, he has won 67 matches and kept 43 clean sheets, showcasing his importance to the squad. His partnership with Gabriel Magalhaes has been instrumental in strengthening Arsenal’s defensive line.
Arteta emphasized the impact of Saliba’s performances, noting that his presence has made a significant difference to the team. “He has created a magnificent partnership and big credit to big Gabi as well for that,” Arteta added.
