Michael Owen believes Newcastle United striker and Arsenal transfer target Alexander Isak would be a valuable addition to every Premier League team.
Former England striker Michael Owen has heaped praise on Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak, stating that the 25-year-old would “walk into every team in the Premier League” if he were available. Isak has been in sensational form this season, scoring 13 goals in 18 league games to help Newcastle climb to fifth in the English top-flight.
Isak’s impressive performances have not gone unnoticed, with several top clubs reportedly interested in his services. Arsenal, in particular, has been linked with a move for the Swedish forward as manager Mikel Arteta looks to bolster his attacking options.
Owen, speaking on Premier League Productions, said, “He’s seriously good. Newcastle have done so well to get him, develop him and feed him. He would be one of the most sought-after players in the market. I would say only Man City probably wouldn’t or couldn’t do with him because of Erling Haaland. Apart from that, he would walk into every team in the Premier League.”
Isak’s goal-scoring prowess and overall play have made him one of the most sought-after players in the league. Arsenal legend Paul Merson has also urged his former club to “break the bank” for Isak, calling him the “best in the business”.
Newcastle manager Eddie Howe, however, has downplayed the speculation, saying, “It comes with the territory now. You can’t control it all, you can’t even begin to try, so you just have to ignore it and focus on the facts.
With Isak’s contract at Newcastle running until 2028, it remains to be seen if Arsenal or any other club will be able to secure his services in the near future.
