Arsenal mount a stunning comeback to overcome a 2-0 aggregate deficit and eliminate Real Madrid from the UWCL quarterfinals.

Arsenal Women delivered a stunning performance to defeat Real Madrid 3-0 in the second leg of the UEFA Women’s Champions League quarter-finals at the Emirates Stadium. This emphatic victory overturned a 2-0 first-leg deficit, securing a 3-2 aggregate win and a place in the semi-finals.

The Gunners, led by manager Renee Slegers, dominated the match with relentless attacking play. After a goalless first half, Arsenal came alive in the second half, scoring three goals in a remarkable 14-minute spell. Alessia Russo opened the scoring in the 46th minute, converting a precise cross from Chloe Kelly. Real Madrid struggled to cope with Arsenal’s intensity and creativity, particularly in the second half. Despite a few moments of danger from Linda Caicedo and Filippa Angeldal, the Spanish side was unable to find a way past Arsenal’s resolute defense and goalkeeper Daphne van Domselaar.

This victory not only showcased Arsenal’s resilience and tactical prowess but also set up a thrilling semi-final clash with Lyon. The Gunners’ fans will undoubtedly be dreaming of Champions League glory after such a memorable night.
