Manchester City has placed a substantial price tag on 24-year-old striker Julian Alvarez, who has attracted interest from both Chelsea and Arsenal.
According to The Athletics, the Premier League champions are demanding a minimum of £60 million, with an additional £17 million in potential add-ons for their striker.
Alvarez, who netted 19 goals last season, is eager to get more playing time and is considering a move away from City in the summer transfer window. While City will not stop him from leaving, their valuation has made it difficult for potential suitors.
Atletico Madrid has shown interest in Alvarez, but the Spanish club is hesitant to meet City’s asking price. Meanwhile, both Chelsea and Arsenal are in the market for attacking reinforcements and have been monitoring the situation closely.
Alvarez will miss the start of the new season due to his Olympic commitments with the Argentine national team.
Speaking to ESPN last month, Alvarez said: “These are things that are said, but I am calm, I am comfortable and happy at City. We will see what happens.
