Arsenal is poised to make a significant addition to its midfield with the exciting prospect of signing Lucien Agoume in the summer transfer window.
Arsenal has reportedly added Lucien Agoumé on their shortlist ahead of the summer transfer window, according to Foot Mercato.
Agoumé, 22, has been making waves with his performances this season, catching the attention of several top clubs. His journey began at FC Sochaux-Montbéliard, where he rose through the youth ranks before making his professional debut in Ligue 2. His impressive displays earned him a move to Inter Milan in 2019, although he struggled to get regular playing time there.
Seeking more opportunities, Agoumé was loaned out to various clubs, including La Spezia, Brest, Troyes, and Sevilla. It was during his loan spell at Sevilla that he truly shone, leading to a permanent transfer in the summer of 2023. His performances have been consistently impressive, and he has established himself as a key player for the Andalusian club.
Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is reportedly keen on adding Agoume to his squad, seeing him as a potential replacement for Thomas Partey, whose contract expires at the end of the season. Agoume’s versatility, technical skill, and physicality have drawn comparisons to Paul Pogba, making him an attractive prospect for the Gunners.
With a market value estimated at €7.6 million, Agoumé could be available at a reasonable price, especially given his desire to play in the Premier League. Arsenal is said to be ahead of other clubs, including Barcelona, in the race to sign him.
