Williams, who has a €58 million (£48.4m) release clause, has attracted interest from multiple top European clubs, including Chelsea and Bayern Munich. Arsenal’s frugal approach to transfers in recent windows, however, could pose a challenge in securing the winger’s signature.

Former Liverpool midfielder Didi Hamann has suggested that Arsenal’s reluctance to spend big could open the door for Liverpool to step in and sign Williams. Hamann told CoinCasino that Liverpool’s recent Premier League victory boosts their chances of attracting top talent like Williams.

Despite the growing speculation surrounding his future, Williams on his current club. Speaking ahead of Athletic Bilbao’s Europa League semi-final clash with Manchester United, he expressed his commitment to the Basque club, stating that his dream is to lift the champion’s trophy at San Mamés.

“I have the opportunity to make history at this club. The dream never ends. I’m 100% focused on tomorrow, on reaching the final and winning it. I don’t want to look any further. I’m super happy here and I’ve always wanted to feel important here. This is a 10/10 season for me,” Williams said.

With both Arsenal and Liverpool vying for Williams’ signature, the summer transfer window could see an intense battle between the two. While Arsenal have been long-time admirers of the winger, Liverpool’s financial flexibility and recent success could give them the edge in securing the deal.

Whether Williams decides to stay at Bilbao or make a move to England remains to be seen, but his talent and potential make him one of the most sought-after players in European football.
