Leandro Trossard Hails William Saliba as One of the Best in the World

Leandro Trossard praises William Saliba as one of the best defenders in world football, highlighting his impact on Arsenal’s title push.

Arsenal winger Leandro Trossard has hailed William Saliba as “one of the best in the world,” praising the French defender’s all-round qualities and calmness under pressure. Speaking to Sky Sports, Trossard revealed that Saliba is not only a top professional but also a great personality in the dressing room.

“First of all, he is a great human being,” Trossard said. “He’s a funny guy, and yeah, on the pitch, I think he’s one of the best in the world at the moment.”

Arsenal’s Defensive Backbone

Saliba’s pace, strength, and composure have made him a cornerstone of Arsenal’s defensive success this season. Trossard stressed that the 23-year-old has “basically everything” needed to dominate his position, adding that consistent focus will help him reach the very top.

Arsenal’s defensive partnership of Saliba and Gabriel Magalhães has been key to the Gunners’ strong Premier League start. Mikel Arteta’s side has conceded just three goals so far—the joint-best defensive record alongside Crystal Palace.

Earlier this season, William Saliba signed a new long-term contract at the Emirates, underlining his belief in Arsenal’s project. The Frenchman is hungry for silverware and agrees with Trossard’s ambition.

“I’m so happy to sign a new deal with my club. I hope to keep going like this with the team to win some trophies,” Saliba said. “The only thing that we’re missing here is winning trophies. We all believe in the project and the future.”

Arsenal Eyeing the Premier League Title

With Liverpool just two points ahead in the table, Arsenal are firmly in the title race. Saliba’s consistency at the back has given Arteta a solid platform to challenge for silverware.

If the Frenchman continues his upward trajectory, he won’t just be regarded as one of the best defenders in the world—he could soon be recognized as the very best centre-back in world football.
