Lazio is currently in negotiations with Arsenal for left-back Nuno Tavares.
According to Sky Sport Italia transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio, talks are progressing, and a crucial conference call is scheduled today, July 10 between Lazio and the player’s agents. On the same day, the player and his representative will meet in Lisbon, where he will decide whether to accept the Biancocelesti offer.
However, there’s a significant gap between Arsenal’s valuation and Lazio’s offer. The Gunners are reportedly asking for €8-9 million for the player, plus a substantial percentage of any future transfer fee. Nuno Tavares’ contract with Arsenal runs until 2025, which makes Lazio question the high asking price.
Nuno Tavares, who spent last season on loan at Nottingham Forest, made twelve appearances in the Premier League and FA Cup.
Despite Arsenal paying €8 million to acquire him from Benfica in 2021, he only featured in 28 matches for the club, contributing one goal and two assists.
Lazio remains optimistic about a positive outcome in the negotiation process.
