Havertz underwent an operation on Saturday and has shared an update from his hospital bed.
Arsenal forward Kai Havertz has broken his silence on his hamstring injury, revealing his new aim after undergoing successful surgery. The German international, who has been ruled out for the rest of the season, shared his thoughts and plans for recovery in a heartfelt post on social media.
Havertz sustained the injury during a training camp in Dubai, which has been a significant blow to Arsenal’s title challenge. The club confirmed that the surgery was successful, and Havertz is now focused on his rehabilitation. In his post, Havertz expressed gratitude for the support he has received and emphasized his determination to return to full fitness.
“The last few days have been tough to process both physically and mentally. But yesterday was a good day. A successful op and a win. Thanks for all the messages of support over the last few days, it’s really helped. I’m now focused on my journey to full fitness and giving all the support I can give to the team in the background.”
Havertz’s absence has left Arsenal with limited attacking options, with Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka, and Gabriel Martinelli also sidelined. Despite this, the team managed to secure a crucial 2-0 win over Leicester, with midfielder Mikel Merino stepping in as a makeshift striker and scoring both goals.
The club’s manager, Mikel Arteta, has praised Merino’s performance and highlighted the importance of the team’s adaptability in the face of injuries. Havertz’s journey to recovery is expected to extend into the preparations for next season, but his determination and positive outlook have been a source of inspiration for both his teammates and fans.
