Jurrien Timber, Arsenal’s talented defender, has opened up about the team’s 1-0 defeat to Inter Milan in the Champions League. Despite dominating possession and creating numerous scoring opportunities, Arsenal failed to find the back of the net, ultimately falling to a controversial penalty scored by Hakan Çalhanoglu.
“It’s very tough, very frustrating for us,” Timber told the official Arsenal website. In the Champions League, you have to score if you want to win. It’s a tough away game and small moments can decide a game.”
Timber acknowledged the significance of the penalty decision, which came in the final moments of the first half. Despite feeling that Arsenal should have been awarded a penalty of their own, Timber emphasized the need to focus on the positives and look ahead to the upcoming match against Chelsea.
“We have a lot of quality players, just need a little bit of luck in scoring more goals,” Timber said. “I have a lot of trust in our team, and we’ll be fine for sure.”
Arsenal will be looking to bounce back from their European disappointment and secure a crucial victory in the London derby.
