“My body has to get used to the intensity of top-level football and the Premier League again,” Timber told De Telegraaf. He explained that the Premier League’s physicality and tactical demands are much higher compared to other leagues. This adjustment is not just physical but also mental, as players need to be constantly alert and prepared during training and matches.

Timber revealed that his knee, which was injured, sometimes feels stiff after games or training sessions. However, he remains optimistic and determined. “The [injured] knee is stronger than the other one,” he said. “Sometimes it still feels a bit stiff after a match or training, but in my head, it is no longer an issue at all.”

The Dutch international also shared his mindset during his recovery. “When I trained outside for the first time, I immediately threw myself into tackles again without any fear,” Timber said. “You can’t just participate half-heartedly, because then things go wrong.”

Timber’s resilience and positive attitude are evident as he continues to work following his return to full fitness. He is expected to feature in the Netherlands’ upcoming UEFA Nations League games against Bosnia and Herzegovina and Germany. Arsenal fans will be hoping to see him in action when the Gunners face Tottenham Hotspur on September 15.

As Timber continues to adapt to the Premier League, his journey serves as an inspiration to many. His story is a testament to the dedication and hard work required to compete at the highest level of football.
