Arsenal midfielder has reportedly agreed terms with Flamengo for a transfer from Arsenal on a free deal.
Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has reportedly agreed to leave the club on a free transfer this summer, with Brazilian giants Flamengo set to secure his signature. The 33-year-old, who joined Arsenal from Chelsea in 2023, has struggled for regular playing time this season and has decided to seek a fresh challenge.
Jorginho’s contract at Arsenal expires at the end of the current season, and despite initial interest from Flamengo during the January transfer window, Arsenal blocked the move. However, recent reports suggest that Jorginho has now agreed to a pre-contract with Flamengo, which will see him join the club in the summer.

The Italian international has been a valuable squad member at Arsenal, contributing to the team’s performances and mentoring younger players. However, with the arrival of Martin Zubimendi from Real Sociedad, Jorginho’s role has diminished, prompting his decision to move on.
Flamengo is excited about the prospect of Jorginho joining their squad, especially with the upcoming Club World Cup in the United States, where they will face Jorginho’s former club, Chelsea. The Brazilian club hopes to have Jorginho on board before the tournament begins.
Jorginho’s departure will undoubtedly leave a gap in Arsenal’s midfield, but it also opens up opportunities for younger players to step up and make their mark.
