Joe Cole makes a prediction regarding Arsenal’s upcoming Champions League quarter-final match against Real Madrid.
Former England international and football pundit Joe Cole has weighed in on the upcoming Champions League Quarter-Final between Arsenal and Real Madrid, offering his insights and predictions.
Arsenal and Real Madrid both secured their spots in the last eight with impressive performances. The Gunners triumphed over PSV with a 9-3 aggregate victory, while Real Madrid edged past their city rivals Atletico Madrid in a dramatic penalty shootout.
Joe Cole believes that Arsenal have what it takes to overcome the Spanish giants, despite Real Madrid’s illustrious history in the competition. “This team and this club (Arsenal) can beat anybody over two legs,” Cole told TNT Sports after Arsenal’s 2-2 draw against PSV in the second leg. He acknowledged the challenges Arsenal face, including injuries and the lack of a recognized striker, but emphasized that such adversity can sometimes galvanize a team.

Fellow pundit Martin Keown agreed with Cole, describing Arsenal’s dominant performance against PSV as a statement to the rest of Europe. “To win as they did, 7-1 [in the first leg], 9-3 overall… that will ripple across Europe,” Keown said. He also praised the contributions of key players like Oleksandr Zinchenko and Raheem Sterling, who played pivotal roles in the second leg draw against PSV.
As the quarter-final tie approaches, both teams will be looking to make their mark. Real Madrid, the defending champions, will undoubtedly enter the match as favorites given their history and experience in the competition. However, Cole’s confidence in Arsenal’s ability to rise to the occasion adds an intriguing layer of excitement to the upcoming clash.
