Gabriel Jesus couldn’t hide his delight as Arsenal delivered a dominant performance to thrash Crystal Palace 5-1 at Selhurst Park. The Brazilian striker, who has been in sensational form, scored twice in the first half and was instrumental in Arsenal’s emphatic victory.

“It’s great to be back in the team and contribute to the win,” Jesus said after the match. “Scoring goals and helping the team is what I love to do, and today was a fantastic day for us.”

Jesus’s brace came in the opening 14 minutes, putting Arsenal 2-1 up after Ismaila Sarr had equalized for Palace. His first goal was a clinical finish from Bukayo Saka’s cross, and the second was a powerful header from a corner. Despite Palace’s spirited fightback, Arsenal’s second-half performance, including goals from Kai Havertz, Gabriel Martinelli, and Declan Rice, sealed the deal.

Reflecting on his performance, Jesus added, “I’m just happy to be playing well and helping the team climb up the table. We have a lot of quality in this squad, and when we play like this, we’re hard to beat.”

The win moves Arsenal within three points of Premier League leaders Liverpool, keeping their title hopes alive. Jesus’s hat-trick in the Carabao Cup quarter-final against Palace earlier in the week and his recent form have been crucial to Arsenal’s success.
