Football commentator and Liverpool legend Jamie Carragher recently made a bold claim regarding Arsenal’s chance of winning the Premier League. According to Carragher, Arsenal will not win the trophy until they make two key signings to address Mikel Arteta’s “biggest problem”.

Following their 1-0 home win over Ipswich Town, Arsenal has moved up to second in the table but remains six points behind Liverpool, who have a game in hand. Despite Arsenal’s strong performance this season, Carragher believes that one significant issue could hinder their title bid.

Carragher speaking to The Telegraph pointed out that Arsenal’s biggest problem is their injuries. The Gunners have suffered 16 different player injuries, with notable absentees including captain Martin Odegaard and Ben White. The recent hamstring injury to talisman Bukayo Saka, which will keep him out for two months, has further stretched the squad.

Carragher emphasized that Arsenal’s lack of attacking depth is a critical issue. He noted that Arteta has been too reliant on the same players, particularly Bukayo Saka, and urged the manager to delve into the transfer market to bring in at least two more top attacking players.

Carragher suggested that Arsenal needs to freshen up their squad in 2025, regardless of whether they miss out on the title this season. He mentioned that Arsenal is short in attacking areas compared to Liverpool and Chelsea and needs starters who will keep the opposition guessing as to what the starting XI will be.

Arsenal has recently been linked with several potential targets, including Wolves forward Matheus Cunha, who has scored 10 goals and made four assists so far this season. Another potential signing is Paris Saint-Germain forward Randal Kolo Muani, who could provide the attacking depth Arsenal need.
