Liverpool is six points clear at the top of the Premier League, having played one fewer game than second-placed Arsenal, but Jamie Carragher is still unconvinced about the Gunners.

Jamie Carragher has made a bold claim about Arsenal’s position in the Premier League title race, suggesting that the Gunners are on the edge of a potential collapse. Speaking on Sky Sports‘ Monday Night Football, Carragher highlighted the psychological pressure on Arsenal as they chase Liverpool at the top of the table.

Carragher pointed out that while Arsenal’s recent 5-1 victory over Manchester City was impressive, he felt the team showed signs of vulnerability. “I think they’ve got to change,” Carragher said. “I might be proven wrong, but if Arsenal continue in that vein, it might come back to haunt them.”

The former Liverpool defender emphasized the importance of maintaining a strong mentality, especially when leading matches. He recalled the 1996-97 title race, where Newcastle United beat Manchester United 5-0 but ultimately finished seven points behind them. Carragher warned Arsenal not to let a similar scenario play out this season.

Carragher’s comments have added fuel to the intense rivalry between Arsenal and Liverpool, with both teams vying for the Premier League title. As the season progresses, it will be interesting to see if Arsenal can handle the pressure and keep their title hopes alive.
