Jamie Carragher suggested that Arsenal should let Chelsea and other Premier League rivals freely pursue Matheus Cunha, a £65 million transfer target.

Jamie Carragher has advised Arsenal to withdraw from the race for Wolves striker Matheus Cunha, who is valued at £65 million, and allow Chelsea and other Premier League rivals to pursue the Brazilian forward. Carragher believes that missing out on Cunha could be a blessing in disguise for Arsenal, as he is unsure where Cunha would fit into Mikel Arteta’s squad.

When asked if he would sign Cunha if he was in charge at the Emirates Stadium, Jamie Carragher told Sky Sports he wouldn’t pay £65m for Matheus Cunha and isn’t sure where Cunha would fit into Arsenal’s lineup.

Cunha has been in excellent form this season, scoring ten league goals for Wolves, who are currently struggling at the bottom of the table. Despite Wolves’ manager Vitor Pereira declaring Cunha as “not for sale,” several clubs, including Chelsea, Tottenham, and Nottingham Forest, have shown interest in the talented forward.

Carragher suggested that Arsenal should instead focus on signing striker Benjamin Sesko to bolster their attacking options. With Gabriel Jesus out due to injury and Kai Havertz as Arsenal’s top scorer with eight goals this season, Carragher believes that securing a forward is crucial for Arsenal’s title aspirations.
