Arsenal legend Ian Wright has voiced his opinion on who should replace Kai Havertz after the German forward suffered a season-ending hamstring injury. Havertz, who has been a key player for Arsenal this season, will undergo surgery and is expected to miss the remainder of the 2024-25 season.

Speaking on Stick to Football, Wright urged Raheem Sterling to step up and fill the void left by Havertz. Sterling, who joined Arsenal on loan from Chelsea, has struggled to secure regular playing time but now has an opportunity to prove his worth.

Wright emphasized the importance of Sterling seizing this chance to avoid leaving with a whimper. “For Kai Havertz to get an injury at this stage is just devastating,” Wright said. “This is the time where he should buckle down and say, ‘I have to make this work’.”

With Havertz out, Arsenal’s attacking options are limited, with only Leandro Trossard, Ethan Nwaneri, and Sterling available. Wright believes that Sterling’s experience and skill can help Arsenal maintain their challenge for the Premier League title.

The Arsenal faithful will be hoping that Sterling can rise to the occasion and deliver the performances needed to keep the Gunners in the title race. Wright’s call to action highlights the urgency of the situation and the need for Sterling to step up and make a significant impact.
