Barcelona has reportedly reached an agreement on personal terms with Spanish sensation Nico Williams with the aim of bringing the winger to Camp Nou this summer according to SPORT, in a huge blow to the Gunners.
The 21-year-old winger has been one of the standout player in this summer’s European Championship, catching the attention of Premier League clubs like Arsenal and Chelsea.
While Williams remains highly thought of at Arsenal, the report claims, negotiations between Barcelona and Nico William’s agent, Felix Tainta, concluded successfully last week, finalizing the terms of the players personal contract. While specific details about wages and contract length remain unknown, the agreement signifies a big step forward to the La Liga giant.
The focus now shifts to meeting the winger’s hefty release clause, which stands at €58 million, If the transfer becomes “seriously complicated,” there’s still a chance that Arsenal could swoop in.
However, Barcelona club president Joan Laporta is convinced that the club will soon have the funds to sign Williams.
Laporta stated on Monday to Catalunya Radio that, financially speaking, we could commit to signing Nico Williams.
