Galatasaray is reportedly making a late effort to sign Arsenal midfielder Jorginho as the Turkish transfer window nears its end. The Turkish champions, eager to strengthen their squad, have identified the Italian international as a prime target to enhance their midfield options as reported by The Sun.

Galatasaray’s interest in Jorginho comes after their unsuccessful attempt to lure Manchester United’s Casemiro to Istanbul. With the Brazilian opting to stay at Old Trafford, Galatasaray have turned their attention to the experienced Arsenal playmaker. Jorginho, known for his exceptional passing ability and tactical intelligence, would bring a wealth of experience to the Turkish side.

Despite Galatasaray’s interest, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta will not entertain any offers for Jorginho. The midfielder, who joined the Gunners from Chelsea in January 2023, has become an integral part of Arteta’s squad. His leadership on and off the pitch, coupled with his unique playing style, has earned him a crucial role within the team.

Arteta’s commitment to retaining Jorginho is further underscored by the one-year contract extension the player signed in May, which keeps him at the Emirates until 2025.

With the Turkish transfer window set to close on September 13, Galatasaray faces a race against time to secure Jorginho’s signature. However, Arsenal’s firm stance suggests that the Turkish club will need to look elsewhere to bolster their midfield.
