Arsenal defender Gabriel Magalhaes has undergone scans to evaluate the severity of the hamstring injury sustained during Tuesday’s win against Fulham.

Arsenal dependable center-back, Gabriel Magalhães, faced a major setback during the Premier League clash against Fulham on April 1, 2025. The Brazilian defender was forced off the pitch just 16 minutes into the game due to a hamstring injury, leaving fans and teammates concerned about his availability for upcoming matches, including the crucial Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid.

Gabriel’s wife, Gabrielle Figueiredo, shared her thoughts on the situation during a public appearance. Speaking at a screening of Amazon Prime’s “Married To The Game,” a documentary series featuring the lives of Premier League players’ families, Gabrielle opened up about the emotional challenges that injuries bring to their lives. She expressed her support for her husband, emphasizing the importance of being there for each other during difficult times.

She revealed that Gabriel had undergone scans to assess the severity of the injury and expressed the emotional toll it has taken on their family. “It’s difficult. He got injured yesterday, and now he is with the doctor having scans. We never expected anything like this,” she shared.

The timing of the injury couldn’t be worse for Arsenal, as they are already grappling with multiple defensive setbacks. Jurrien Timber, Ben White, Riccardo Calafiori, and Takehiro Tomiyasu are also dealing with injuries, leaving manager Mikel Arteta with limited options in defense. Arteta may have to rely on Jakub Kiwior, who has been praised for his versatility and reliability, to step up against the reigning European champions.

Gabriel’s absence would be a significant blow to Arsenal’s chances against Real Madrid, especially given the formidable attacking threats posed by players like Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Junior. Fans will be hoping for a swift recovery, but as of now, Gabriel’s participation in the crucial matches remains uncertain.
