Frank Leboeuf Urges Chelsea to Hijack Arsenal’s Move for ‘Different Class’ Transfer Target

The Rodrygo transfer battle intensifies as Chelsea and Arsenal go head-to-head for the Real Madrid winger will Frank Leboeuf’s advice push the Blues to act?

Former Chelsea defender Frank Leboeuf has weighed in on the Rodrygo transfer battle, urging his former club to hijack Arsenal’s pursuit of the Real Madrid winger. With Rodrygo reportedly unsettled at Madrid and both Premier League giants eager to reinforce their attacking options, the battle for his signature could shape the upcoming transfer window.

Speaking to ESPN FC, Leboeuf emphasized Rodrygo’s quality, stating, “Yes, because he’s different class. He has some experience, he knows the top level. Comparing him to the others who came and didn’t perform for Chelsea. There were some unknowns from the world of football, but Rodrygo is a different level and definitely a good signing, but I think he would cost a lot”.

Chelsea, under manager Enzo Maresca, are preparing for another busy transfer window. While securing a top striker remains their priority, the club is also looking to strengthen their attack with a high-caliber winger. Rodrygo, who has registered 13 goals and 10 assists in 50 appearances this season, fits the profile of a player who could elevate Chelsea’s offensive capabilities.

Arsenal, meanwhile, are also keen on reinforcing their attack. Club director Josh Kroenke recently assured fans that Mikel Arteta would receive backing in the transfer market, particularly after the Gunners refrained from making major signings in January. With Rodrygo reportedly unhappy at Madrid, Arsenal sees him as a potential game-changer for their squad.

The Brazilian winger missed Real Madrid’s recent match against Real Mallorca, fueling speculation that he may have played his last game for the club. However, Madrid manager Carlo Ancelotti dismissed the rumors, stating that Rodrygo was simply unwell. The player himself also took to social media to criticize the Spanish media for spreading false reports about his future.

With both Chelsea and Arsenal vying for Rodrygo’s signature, the upcoming transfer window promises to be an intense battle. Whether Chelsea will act on Leboeuf’s advice and attempt to hijack Arsenal’s move remains to be seen, but one thing is certain—Rodrygo’s next destination could significantly impact the Premier League landscape.
