Jermaine Jenas believes Arsenal can win the Premier League title this season despite Manchester City pressure.
Former Tottenham midfielder Jermaine Jenas has made a bold title prediction for Arsenal, predicting that Mikel Arteta’s side will finally win the Premier League. Despite fierce pressure from Manchester City, the ex-Spurs and England midfielder insists Arsenal remain the team to beat this season.
Arsenal sit top of the table heading into the busy festive period, and while their lead has narrowed, Jenas believes the Gunners possess the strongest overall squad in the division and the mentality required to go all the way.
Speaking in his role as a pundit for 10bet, Jenas made it clear that his stance has not changed since August.
“I do think Arsenal are still favourites. I’ve been saying it from the start of the season,” he said. “I think they’ve got the best team.”
Jenas argued that no other Premier League side currently matches Arsenal’s balance across defence, midfield, and attack. He also suggested that lessons learned from previous near-misses under Arteta could prove decisive when pressure intensifies later in the campaign.
Defensive Returns Could Prove Crucial
A major reason behind this Arsenal title prediction is the expected return of key defender Gabriel Magalhães around the new year. Jenas cited his partnership with William Saliba as critical to Arsenal’s success, describing it as one of the league’s strongest centre-back pairings.
With Saliba and Gabriel anchoring the back line, Arsenal’s control and composure noticeably improve—something that could be vital during the title run-in.
Despite his confidence, Jenas did raise one concern. He pointed to Arsenal’s habit of winning games by fine margins rather than overwhelming opponents.
“They’re not blowing teams away,” he noted. “They’re winning one-nil, two-nil, and it puts you under pressure.”
According to Jenas, those narrow scorelines leave little room for error, especially against teams capable of capitalising on a single mistake.
Unsurprisingly, Manchester City remain the biggest threat. Jenas acknowledged Pep Guardiola’s side can put together long winning runs that quickly swing title races. City have already reduced Arsenal’s lead to two points after a strong sequence of results.
Even so, Jenas hinted that City are not flawless, suggesting they still have “a clanger in them” despite their recent momentum.
Arsenal’s Season So Far
Arsenal’s campaign has featured an 18-game unbeaten run across competitions, underlining their consistency and tactical growth. However, dropped points against Sunderland, Chelsea, and Aston Villa have ensured the title race remains finely balanced.
With January fixtures looming and reinforcements returning from injury, Arsenal’s response over the next six weeks could define the season.

That a former Tottenham player is backing Arsenal only adds intrigue. This Arsenal title prediction reinforces the idea that the Gunners are no longer hopeful challengers, but genuine frontrunners.
Arteta’s task now is clear: convert quality, maturity, and momentum into silverware. If Arsenal manage that, Jenas’ call may age very well indeed.
