Former Arsenal academy striker Billy Vigar has tragically died aged 21 after sustaining a fatal injury during a Chichester City match.

Vigar joined Arsenal’s academy at the age of 14, quickly establishing himself as a promising young striker. In July 2022, he signed his first professional contract and went on to impress in the Under-18s and Premier League 2 squads. During the 2021/22 U18 Premier League campaign, he recorded four goals and two assists.

After leaving Arsenal, Vigar represented Derby County, Hastings United, and Eastbourne Borough before joining Chichester City in the summer of 2025.

The tragedy struck during Chichester City’s Isthmian League Premier Division match against Wingate & Finchley. Vigar reportedly collided with a concrete wall while trying to keep the ball in play. The impact caused a severe injury, and he was immediately placed in an induced coma.

Despite undergoing emergency surgery on Tuesday, his condition worsened. On Thursday morning, September 25, 2025, Billy Vigar sadly passed away.
