Former Arsenal starlet, once compared to Bukayo Saka opens up about his injury recovery and Championship ambitions.
Amario Cozier-Duberry, once hailed as the next Bukayo Saka by Arsenal Under-18s coach Jack Wilshere, has recently shared his journey of overcoming injury and his aspirations to make a mark in the Championship.
Cozier-Duberry, a talented winger, quickly rose through Arsenal’s academy ranks, drawing comparisons to Saka due to his pace, skill, and ability to play on the wings. His potential was evident, and many believed he was destined for a bright future at the Emirates Stadium.
However, injuries have been a significant hurdle in Cozier-Duberry’s career. After a promising start, he faced a challenging period with injuries that derailed his progress. Reflecting on this tough phase, Cozier-Duberry said, “Injuries come, they happen, and it’s football. I’ve just had to kick on with my rehabilitation. It’s not something you can spend too long dwelling over.”
The young winger has been working diligently on his recovery, determined to return to full fitness and prove his worth. “I’ve got more to come but I’d like to think that I’ve made a good first impression. I want to kick on from that now and show what I can do.
Now, Cozier-Duberry has set his sights on the Championship, eager to make a significant impact. “There are a lot of games in the Championship, and I’m definitely looking forward to it and hopefully getting a good run of games. The Championship’s exciting, and I’m enjoying it, even watching the games.”
With his determination and resilience, Cozier-Duberry is optimistic about his future. “I want to be starting games in the Championship and to do as much as I can. I’m excited about the next step in my career and ready to take on the challenge.”
