Fabrizio Romano clarified Arsenal’s stance on Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes. Despite growing speculation, he confirmed that Arsenal and Guimarães are not engaged in any active negotiations.
Arsenal is expected to refresh its midfield this summer. Jorginho and Thomas Partey are nearing the end of their contracts. The club is exploring replacements, with Bruno Guimaraes among the names previously linked.
Since joining from Lyon in 2022, Guimaraes has become one of the Premier League’s top midfielders. His technical ability, defensive work, and leadership have made him a standout performer.

Speaking on his YouTube channel, Romano said:
“I’m not aware of any concrete negotiations or contact between Arsenal and Guimaraes.”
He explained that Guimaraes was on Arsenal’s radar under Edu Gaspar, but new sporting director Andrea Berta has not pursued the player.

Arsenal Exploring Other Midfield Targets
While Guimaraes remains admired, Arsenal is reportedly focused on other options. Martin Zubimendi, Alexander Isak, and Benjamin Sesko have all been linked with summer moves to North London.
Romano emphasized that no formal approach has been made for Guimaraes.
