Everton are reportedly preparing a loan offer for Arsenal’s 25-year-old striker, Eddie Nketiah, as they look to bolster their attacking options before the summer transfer window closes. The Merseyside club is keen to secure Nketiah’s services on a season-long loan, hoping to add more firepower to their squad after a disappointing goal-scoring performance last season.
Eddie Nketiah has struggled to secure a regular starting spot at Arsenal, often finding himself behind Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus in the pecking order. Despite showing glimpses of his potential during his appearances, Nketiah has not been able to cement his place in the starting XI.
Everton’s need for a reliable goal scorer is evident. Last season, the Toffees managed to score only 40 goals in 38 Premier League matches, the second-lowest in the league. The current striking duo of Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Beto combined for just 14 goals across all competitions, highlighting the need for reinforcements. Nketiah, who averages a goal every 184 minutes, could be the solution to Everton’s goal-scoring woes.
Sources from Football Insider indicate that Everton’s interest in Nketiah has intensified following the collapse of his potential move to Marseille. With Bournemouth also showing interest but talks stalled as the opted to sign Porto’s Evanilson, Everton now have a clear path to secure the striker’s services. The deal, however, hinges on the potential departure of Dominic Calvert-Lewin, who has been linked with a move away from Goodison Park.
