Steve Holland’s resignation as England’s assistant coach could open the door for Arsenal star Ben White to return to the national team after their previous disagreement.
Ben White opted to leave international football over two years ago, due to a scathing statement from Gareth Southgate’s assistant.
When the now former England manager announced the squad for upcoming friendlies against Belgium and Brazil in March, he revealed that White had requested not to be considered.
According to the Daily Mail, England and Arsenal supporters are now hoping for White’s return, with many expressing their desire for him to rejoin the national team on social media.

The initial disagreement reportedly stemmed from a conversation during the 2022 World Cup in Qatar. Holland, questioning the players’ interest in football, allegedly commented on White’s lack of knowledge about Arsenal’s recent performances compared to Kyle Walker’s response about Manchester City.
White, who has openly admitted to never being a big follower of the sport, was said to be particularly bothered by the public nature of the criticism. He left the England camp shortly after.
With Holland no longer part of the coaching staff, fans are hopeful that a reconciliation is possible, paving the way for White’s return to the national team.
